The next few days Madison is quiet in her cell. A few dwarves ask if she is okay. When Fili asks about her and uses the word givashel, which Madison knows what it means, Thorin responds that Fili should be quiet and leave her alone. One day Bilbo stands in front of them, he has the keys and opens everyone's doors. Madison is the last door, but when Bilbo wants to open the door Thorin stops him. Everyone reacts surprised. Fili and Bofur say that they will not leave her behind and Bilbo also does not understand why they have to leave Madison behind. Balin reacts a bit calmer and asks Thorin what is going on and that they have to hurry. Bilbo goes against Thorin and opens Madison's door anyway. Thorin looks at her angrily but ignores it because they are in a hurry. Fili asks what Thorin suddenly has and Madison shrugs her shoulders. She is the last to follow the group to the cellar.

The dwarves are clearly not happy that they are in Rivendell an elf city, but Madison and Bilbo are very enthusiastic. While the rest are still standing, Madison wants to walk on with a big smile on her face, she is stopped by Dwalin, who says that she better walk among the rest for her safety. Arriving at the gate Madison stands among the dwarves together with Bilbo, she listens to how Gandalf is talking to Lindir and she looks at the elf with admiration, Bofur who sees her face nudges her that she should look at the elf with a little less admiration if she does not want to get Thorin on her, besides Bofur Fili also saw her face, who starts to get jealous.

Thorin turns to her and asks what she is still doing here. Then he orders Bilbo to be thrown off the wall. Gandalf walks up and asks if he can have his burglar back. Bilbo escapes thanks to Fili and Bofur and Fili also sends Madison with Bilbo, she follows him with the bow and arrows on her back from Tauriel. Thorin shouts that he doesn't want anything to do with wizards, Shire rats and witches from another world anymore.

Madison is sitting with Fili, Kili, Bofur and the others discussing the Arkenstone until Thorin comes running with Bilbo on his heels. Thorin accuses Madison of stealing the Arkenstone and grabs her. Kili and Dwalin pull Thorin off Madison and she loses her locket. Thorin holds him and asks if she will give him the Arkenstone in exchange for the necklace. Madison shouts again that she does not have the stone and he drops the locket and stomps on it, breaking it. He walks away. Madison is full of tears and carefully takes the photo from the broken pieces. She runs away as the others call her name. She hides in the room she had found. Ori picks up the broken locket and says that he will make it again for Madison. Fili finds Madison in the room and asks about the locket and photo. Madison shows them to him. He then takes something out of his pockets and then asks Madison if he can court her. He shows her a charm that he had made. Madison looks at him in shock but is happy and says yes. He braids a lock of her hair and puts the charm in it. Madison only asks what Thorin would think of it, but Fili says that she doesn't have to worry about that because he wants to be with her. He gets up and wants to help her get up, but Madison stops him by asking if he wants to sleep here with the two of them, without the rest around them. They sleep together.

At Bard's house. Bard disappears from his house and Thorin grabs Madison, he asks again what her secret is that Thrandiul had said. The rest react surprised again. Fili says that his uncle should let her go and the Urs also react strongly to Thorin. Thorin says that Thrandiul had said that he would tell her secret to him and now wants to know what it is with the strange language she speaks and the strange clothes she wore when she came to Ered Luin. Bilbo stands there frowning. Balin says why he would believe Thrandiul, Thorin says that she always had something about her that he did not trust. Madison has tears in her eyes.
