The boat carrying them stoped at Whale island, where Mito-san overheard them talking. Meter City is no place for a kid to grow up, so Mito adopted Kira when she was a baby. Kira has light blonde hair, ice blue eyes, and wears fighting attire. The only lead Kira has about her birth family is the fact that her eyes turn a brilliant shade of red whenever she feels intense emotion. Wanting to know more, she decides that becoming a Hunter could help her find some answers. At the age of twelve, Kira and Gon set off to take the Hunter’s Exam where they meet Killua, and Kurapika. Kira develops feelings for Killua. Hisoka has been pretending to be a member of the infamous Phantom Troupe. Because of this, he knows Kira’s father is the leader of the troupe who gave the order to slaughter the Kurta clan. Hisoka is intrigued by the potential for chaos that runs in her blood. This news devastates Kira and sends her spiraling down a dark path, because she doesn’t think Kurapika will be able to forgive her. Feeling responsible for the deaths of the Kurta, Kira uses her Nen to crate a clone. The clone tortures Kira, breaking her body and delving her the pain she thinks she deserves. The clone then takes her place amongst the Phantom Troupe, standing with her father. Feeling Kira’s self loathing, the clone is in a frenzy, killing innocent people and staying by her father’s side. Gon and Killua wish to rescue Kira from herself, and the darkness she now feels inside.
