Nikki and Jason are childhood friends who grew up in a tough neighborhood in Seattle. They both share love for 90s R&B and true crime documentaries. They believe true crime is a source of therapy and what not to do when you're heartbroken or desperate however, Nikki is about to learn what happens, when you're on the opposite side, Jason confesses his love for Nikki why he's dating Courtney sophisticated real estate agent Nikki likes and wants to respect boundaries Jason confesses that for him, but his heart belongs to Nikki and he's so confused. His abandonment trauma has him not trusting his feelings, he finds a curse to be honest with Courtney and says, even though she's an amazing woman, you're not the right woman for me, Courtney was hurt, but she moved on was dating Kevin, but it was just casual. They weren't serious. They never slept together because she could see the flags and his obsessive behavior early on when she starts to date he becomes a stalker for Jason to react in a violent way.
