Fili says that his uncle should let her go and the Urs also react strongly to Thorin. Thorin says that Thrandiul had said that he would tell her secret to him and now wants to know what it is with the strange language she speaks and the strange clothes she wore when she came to Ered Luin. Bilbo stands there frowning. Balin says why he would believe Thrandiul, Thorin says that she always had something about her that he did not trust. Madison has tears in her eyes. Fili asks her to say that she has no secret, but Madison who knows that she cannot do anything else tells her secret except what her task is. Fili is hurt that she did not confide anything to him. Thorin does not want to see her anymore and the others do not know how to react to her story. When Thorin says they are going to get weapons, Bofur walks over to her and hugs her and tells her that he believes her and is no different to him, he understands how hard it would be for her not to see her family anymore and that she is still welcome with him and the others. Madison sobs. Bofur is called by Thorin and he walks away. Madison sees Fili still standing there who just looks at her with a hurt face and then turns around and walks out the door where Thorin is still standing, he whispers something to Fili who nods. Madison is left alone with the children of Bard who have been quiet until the dwarves wanted to leave and Bain tried to stop them. They ask if everything she said was true and Madison just says yes. The children let her sit on one of the chairs and it is quiet in the house.

At Bard's house. Bard disappears from his house and Thorin grabs Madison, he asks again what her secret is that Thrandiu...
